Your Opinion: Is Fashion Art?

Your comments are the most important aspect of this page - I want your comments to flock to me like birds.  Like a murmuration of starlings.  Originally, this was to appear as a poll beneath the Art Fashion Creation header, but there was no comment space - and that would not suffice.  Here, you have a nice blank comment space for your very own thoughts, so what do You think:  Is Fashion Art?

As a starting point, here are some leading statements:

• Some designers have elevated fashion to an artform.  I'd love to hear your examples. 
• Fashion is artifice, skill, craftsmanship - not Art.  Maybe you think some aspect of this statement is true.
• Conceived of color and shape, created by design - Fashion is Art.
• Sometimes Fashion is Art, sometimes Art encompasses Fashion.
• Who cares if fashion is art, here's what I have to say about comments being compared to a murmuration of starlings.

Your comment plus my response equals a small conversation, which might become a blooming, bounteous discussion of theories - and that would be splendid.
